MELBOURNE 2016: HAUL POST

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd now, finally, my MELBOURNE HAUL!!!!

Okay so I bought these in Auckland Airport so even though I didn't purchase them in Melbourne City, I bought them during this trip so I'm counting them as part of my Melbourne Haul. XD So I've been on the search to find a new moisturizer to try and since I've been wanting to try Benefit Cosmetics, I thought I'd give this a go. I love the smell of the Total Moisture facial cream OMG. And I've only used Girl Meets Pearl like twice but I'm absolutely in love with it. Not yet tried the rest though...

I bought those Garnier products when I was in Harbour Town. I've wanted to try the Sakura range for a while so I figured, while I'm buying something from there, I might as well buy them all. That Ralph Lauren Blue for women was a gift from my aunty. She bought it for me knowing that it is my favourite scent. I don't use this fragrance often, but it will always hold a special spot in my heart. It is the perform that got me into perfumes. And it's very difficult to come by in New Zealand. I think there's like one store that stocks it. I bought those cute cactus and raining earrings and leaf ring from Melbourne Central and I wish I bought more! The OPI is Samoan Sand and Rosy Future which I bought from Melbourne airport as I was leaving the country. Always love nail polish even though I hardly use them. I mostly end up going to salons to get my nails done since I do such a terrible job myself.

Melbourne has a Sephora!!! But unfortunately they didn't have in stock the things I wanted. Namely Marc Jacobs products!!! But I was absolutely determined to start my Marc Jacobs Beauty collection so I bought that lipstick from Sephora. I love the colour but I don't think it suits me very well =(

ll the other makeup products I bought were from Mecca Maxima. Omg, I must have spent a few hours in there just looking around and trying stuff. A very lovely staff member was very helpful and came to entertain me lol. Too Faced and Hourglass are two products that I've been dying to try out. I think we have Hourlass Auckland but I'm super lazy so I never want to go visit the shop that sells it. Of course, I pounced on this opportunity to buy.

I'm a very beginner in makeup and I am hopeless at doing mine. But I fucking love the packaging design of Too Faced products. I wouldn't have a clue what palettes they have and now I really wish the Peanut Butter and Jelly palette was available because I would have got that one too! I need to have more natural/nude make up for work so I knew this would be a good choice. In hindsight, Natural Matte palette would probably have been a better choice for work. But... a girl needs a little glitter in her life!

I hmm'd and ahh'd about this one because I am hopeless at this sort of thing. But girl who was helping me out gave me a quick tutorial and since I was already in love with this anyway, I ended up getting it. No regrets at all!

Of course I bought the retractable Kabuki brush lol. My only regret is not purchasing the rest of their brushes. =_=

And my first Hourglass product is the Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure which is a soft plum tone. I was going to ask for recommendations but the second I swatched this, I knew it was to be.

I've been needing to get a cosmetics bag for a while now. I've got one in mind but I've not seen it in stock for so long! I ended up just caving and buying this black set from Victoria's Secret. It comes in a pack of three, a big bag which is great for your bath and shower essentials, a medium sized bag which is great for daily makeup products and a small pouch which I would probably use as a coin pouch when I go overseas. =P

I also wanted a vanity tray and since Bombshell is my favourite scent, I didn't stop to think twice! I picked up these sets from the shop in Melbourne Airport. I probably won't be keeping all of them and will probably give some away as gifts.

Now... for the less glamorous items!

This was a present from my uncle LOL actually, I think he just wanted to get rid of them because he can't take them to Singapore.

Bought some basics from Uniqlo in Melbourne...

Had a super crazy craving for matcha... but the only thing I don't regret buying is that box of matcha cookies. That green tea instant latte is actually quite disgusting lol. It tastes like instant milk powder and white sugar.

And that concludes my trip to Melbourne!

MELBOURNE 2016: THINGS TO DO

So what can you do in Melbourne? There's a whole lot to do just within the CBD. Trams are now free! Which is great for a cheapo like me who would rather walk half an hour down a straight street than pay for public transport.

On my first morning in Melbourne, I headed down to Docklands by way of the free trams for the gym. But first, I was confused by how to get on the trams since they stop right in the middle of the streets. So the struggle was real: wanted to get on the trams but also didn't want to get run over by cars lol. Finally I saw someone walk to the middle and stand there so I figured she's also waiting for the trams and joined her as I prayed for my street survival.

The tram stop I used was the one outside the city library intersection. I didn't go into the library this time but during my first visit to Melbourne, my friend took me here and it was pretty cool! I would definitely recommend dropping by here to have a look inside.

The Etihad Stadium where I suddenly felt the crew spirit lol I was on my w

Well, I am assuming this is some bank building due to the nab logo?

I'm sorry, I actually have no idea what this is but I felt the need to photograph this while I waited for the lights to turn green for me to cross the road to catch that tram heading to

Finally arrived at Harbour Town and walked around for a bit. I was told that this is the place to go if you're scouting for sales. I didn't really find much that I wanted and the sales weren't that amazing. I did buy a few items before leaving but only because they were sold in bulk and so were cheaper.

I spent my last day walking around the city and shopping. I live really close by to this building: Hardrock Climbing. Every time I pass by, I always take a look. It's walls are glass and so you can see in from the streets and watch people do indoor wall climbing. It looks pretty cool and I would like to come here one day and actually do some rock climbing.

You can get a day pass to the gym and can use it as long as you want for the day - even leave and go back in! I think I'm gonna go try it out the next time I'm in Melbourne =D

A tram passing by my view... so I turned around and looked for something else to take a photo of.

Melbourne has lots of cool buildings.

RMIT.

Popped down by Queen Victoria Market just to walk through. I bought some oysters which weren't very big or extremely fresh and was only okay.

When I wasn't eating or walking around exploring the streets, I spent my time shopping! Since I live so close, my favourite place to visit is Melbourne Central. But I also like to go to Myer, David Jones and also The Emporium.

I absolutely love this shot of Melbourne Central.

There's this cute little shop on level 2 of Melbourne Central called Morning Flowers. It's a little flower shop that sells the cutest terrariums!  This little creation caught my eye as I walked past the shop and I instantly fell in love with it. Unfortunately I couldn't buy it because I wouldn't have been able to bring it back with me through customs =( but I showed this picture to my mother and it inspired her to start her own creations haha.

I wish I could pull off this outfit.

I wanted to try a drink from here but I was too full. =_=

A few years ago, I bought glasses from CAL eyewear and I stopped by again this year to see what else they had. I don't really wear glasses anymore as I prefer to wear contacts, I am on the look out for a new pair of sunnies. I ended up not buying any though.

I didn't end up doing much in Melbourne except for shop and window shop and eat. But that's the usual thing people do. So I'm going to end this post with a night shot of the view of the city.

My final post will be a haul post and you can see it here.
